Beyond the Pines is a Public Relations agency founded and run by Whitworth University students. This group of brilliant writers, inventive problem-solvers, design geeks and service-oriented people are looking to serve the community on campus and beyond. Whitworth University Communications  began redirecting design requests from campus clubs and departments to the BtP Design Squad. I head the team of students that now handle these in-house design requests. My responsibilities included:

Graphic Design Intern | Yuit Communications



During my summer at Yuit, I got to work on projects for big-name clients such as the Alaska State Troopers, Saltchuck Family of Companies, the American Heart Association and more. I also worked in conjunction with Alaska-famous local chains like Kaladi Brothers Coffee.

My responsibilities included:

• editing, revising and making client-requested changes to annual reports

• creating and pitching concepts for logos, ad campaigns and branded swag

• editing portraits



Chapel Artist in Residence | Whitworth University — Office of Church Engagement

This year-long residency provides time for one artist to facilitate community art projects and explore the what it means to include the visual arts in worship. Additionally, the chapel artist creates works related to the semester teaching series for display in the chapel.

This internship gives fellows the chance to learn about organizational use of social media and design in marketing. I was invited to contribute ideas and designs, craft and execute social media strategy and direct social media content under the mentorship of ISL’s Graphic Design Coordinator.

Videography Intern | Young Life --Pico Escondido



I was responsible for the production of daily and weekly videos for the entire summer as well as the photo documentation of daily activities. Additionally, I worked alongside the North American Liaison to create content for the camp’s web and social media sites. I learned a wide range of cross-cultural and bilingual communication skills and vastly improved my Spanish. This media-intensive internship provided hands-on experience a wide range of production skills including:

Whitworth University offers media talent awards to returning students who have a GPA of at least 3.0 and demonstrate the potential to excel as student communicators during their time at Whitworth. The Media Talent Award is given by a panel of Communication Department Faculty. 



Whitworth Writing Award


Sponsored by the English department, this scholarship is awarded to research papers written for Communication Studies courses. My feature article “My Little Brony” won the 2017 award. 


Presidential Scholarship


$18,000 per year for four years based on academic merit.



Senior Exhibition


Part of the Whitworth University art major program requires a show during the spring of your fourth year. My show featured a selection of cut paper relief works exploring the identity of Spokane from the perspective of a local.


Junior Exhibition


Part of the Whitworth University art major program requires a show during the spring of your third year in the program. My show featured a selection of design work that emphasized fine-arts practice in design.

An active member in the Winston-Salem art community, visual art instructor Alice Morley exhibits the work of friends and former students to the general public every summer. Exhibiting artists have an opportunity to network, as well as exhibit and sell their work.
