FIND ME ON THE 'GRAM

I spent the past year working on an illustrated collection of family recipes. This one — Cranberry Apple Bake — is always on my family’s Thanksgiving table. Based on how much sugar is in the recipe, it should probably be a dessert.

I spent the past year working on an illustrated collection of family recipes. This one is called “Country Captain,” and is a very old, curry-based recipe passed down by spice traders.

Any other 90s babies out there who recognize these plates? The pattern is called “Poppies on Blue” and it’s what we had growing up. I guess it was a popular wedding registry item in the late 80s/early 90s.

I got to be part of this really cool project with @yuitcomms last year. Alongside many indigenous artists connected to Bering Straits Native Corp., we created this cultural activity book. In addition to classic activity book favs like coloring pages and a word find, this book also included a full-color, two-page sticker spread!

I got to be part of this really cool project with @yuitcomms last year. Alongside many indigenous artists connected to Bering Straits Native Corp., we created this cultural activity book. In addition to classic activity book favs like coloring pages and a word find, this book also included a full-color, two-page sticker spread!

The mural concept combines folk art aesthetics from the homeowner’s cultures, Germany and Ecuador, to create a unified design that represents the unique, new culture created in their family.

Structural elements are borrowed from Fraktur — the German-American folk art style that has decorated the inside of family bibles, depicted marriage and house blessings and adorned various wood furniture heirlooms for centuries — while cubistic flora and fauna inspired by historical textiles from Ecuador and, of course, famous Ecuadorain modern artists like Guyasamin, create rhythm and movement.

Spotted this beauty on my way home from work with @hpalmtrees today! It’s the first time I’ve seen this bus wrap driving around “in the wild.” It is probably the largest thing I’ve ever designed.

When I say “my” bus, what I really mean is "made with the @yuitcomms team,” especially @alaskacomms and @kaseabase

A huge amount of research about vaccination messaging went into this design over the last year. Hopefully, this bus will help friends & neighbors around here protect themselves from illness!

The inaugural Kaladi Brothers Holiday Cup design was inspired by gift wrap and the Danish concept of hygge. It featured custom, hand-drawn elements derived from the experiences and objects that make an Alaska winter feel so dang cozy. The bespoke seamless pattern emphasized the allusion to gift-wrapping paper through uniform scaling elements across cup sizes.

Named (and illustrated) in honor of La Bodega’s in-house brew connoisseur, the Good Times Oneobeer packs a fruity punch with a whopping 10.5% ALC/VOL. This tasty collaboration between @turnagainbrewing and @labodega.ak is a Belgian tripel base brewed with Sauvignon Blanc grape must.

This label (and all the other La Bodega goodness to come!) was made with the @yuitcomms team.

Man oh man — it is a JOY to share my work with friends and family. This weekend, 24 illustrations were on display at a family wedding in Kiawah Island, SC. I’m so glad I could participate in & contribute to the celebration through these mini works of art.
